Hospital Grade Disinfection

Minntech, a leading manufacturer in disinfection technology, offers two powerful sporicides through Mar Cor Purification. Minncare® Cold Sterilant is a concentrated disinfectant and sterilant. Actril® Cold Sterilant is a Ready-To-Use disinfectant and sterilant with no dilution required. Both are proven effective for use against spores, bacteria, viruses and molds on hard surfaces commonly found in biopharmaceutical facilities. Surfaces made from non-porous materials such as plastics, stainless steel or glass can be disinfected using either product.

Superior Biocidal Activity: Effective Against Spores, Bacteria, Viruses and Other Organisms

Minncare Cold Sterilant is a powerful disinfectant containing a proprietary mixture of 4.5% peracetic acid and 22.0% hydrogen peroxide. It is effective against a broad spectrum of organisms, including bacterial spores, fungal spores, bacteria, mycobacteria, yeast, molds and viruses.

Actril Cold Sterilant is another powerful disinfectant in ready-to-use form containing a proprietary mixture of 0.06% peracetic acid and 1.0% hydrogen peroxide. It too is effective against a broad spectrum of organisms, including bacterial spores, fungal spores, bacteria, mycobacteria, yeast, molds and viruses.

Neither Minncare nor Acrtil are systemic bactericides. Rather, they are powerful oxidizers that attack and break down the organic components of microorganisms, not just killing them, but destroying their structure. This makes Minncare and Actril some of the fastest acting and most effective disinfectants available. Both Actril and Minncare Cold Sterilants are registered with the US EPA as disinfectants and sterilants. Minncare has also been successfully tested according to European Norms for sporicidal, bactericidal, mycobactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal activity.

Safe, with No Toxic Aldehyde Vapors

Minncare and Actril Cold Sterilants protect employees from exposure to toxic aldehyde vapors. Although proper care must be taken when handling concentrated Minncare, in the use-dilution form, no exceptional handling procedures are required. Actril, with its ready-to-use form, requires no mixing and only minimal personal protection for use.

Both Minncare and Actril have been shown safe through extensive testing for toxicity and effects on skin and mucous membranes.

Low Residuals

Minncare and Actril evaporate completely from surfaces, leaving very low residuals. Testing has shown that less than 0.5 ppm of hydrogen peroxide remains on the surface immediately after visible moisture is gone.

Biodegradable with Easy Disposal

Both Actril Cold Sterilant and Minncare Cold Sterilant are biodegradable and will decompose into oxygen, water and acetic acid. They pose no threat to municipal waste treatment plants.*

* Unused Actril and Minncare Cold Sterilants are acidic and require normal neutralization as specified by your state and local regulations. A 1% solution of Minncare Cold Sterilant has a pH of 3.5. Actril has a pH of 1.5 to 2.0.
